a 30-minute documentary film exploring the influence of art and nature on the lives,
artistic expression and mental well-being of eleven Marin County artists.
She collaborated on the project with Laurie Thompson, Librarian for the Anne T. Kent California Room of the Marin
County Free Library.
Through interviews with the artists and presentation of their work, the film shows how creativity
and Marin's natural landscapes can foster balance and harmony.

Homa Karimzad, Tom Killion, Kathleen Lipinski, Sherrill Miller,
Zenaida „Zee Zee‰ Mott, J. Thomas Soltesz, and Matt Tasley.

Marilyn L. Geary is a writer, media artist, and personal historian. She is owner of Circle of Life Stories, a history
recording service for individuals, families, organizations, and communities. Marilyn helps families preserve their family

Since 2003, Marilyn has been the oral historian for the Anne T. Kent California Room of the Marin County Free Library.
The Anne T. Kent California Room is an archive dedicated to collecting and preserving information on local, regional,
and state history with a strong emphasis on Marin County. It records and archives oral histories of Marin County
residents whose stories enhance the understanding of Marin County's history and communities. It's archives include a
collection of nearly 500 oral history interviews.
Marilyn's community oral history projects include The Faces of Marin City, Marin City Memories, and Marin Mind/Scapes:
Stories of Art, Nature and Healing, co-produced with Laurie Thompson.
Marilyn currently writes a monthly history column for the San Rafael Patch.
Marilyn has also co-authored with Jacqueline Janssen the book LeaveLight: a Motivational Guide to End-of-Life Planning,
a six-step program for making and documenting important life details and decisions. She is currently working on a
book based on letters written by a Swiss-Italian immigrant to Marin in the 1860s.
When she is not conducting interviews, Marilyn spends much of each day researching and writing in her home office in
Woodacre. She's often over the hill‚ digging up the past in library archives. Towards evening she takes off for a walk in
her neighborhood or a hike in the surrounding hills.
